Problem Gambling – When “Gaming” Isn’t A Game Anymore
Gambling in Nevada is everywhere – casinos, local restaurants, and even our grocery stores. For many Nevada residents and visitors, gambling is a casual form of entertainment – fun, enjoyable, and an easy way to pass the time. For others, however, gambling escalates into much more than just a game. It becomes a very serious issue with harmful affects that negatively impact a person’s disposition, demeanor, health, and financial stability.
According to the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling:
- 6% of Nevada adults may be problem or pathological gamblers
- 2% of Nevada teens may be problem gamblers
- 10% of Nevada’s youth are at risk of becoming problem gamblers
