WestStar Credit Union offers “Courtesy
Overdraft” which provides payment of checks, debit
card transactions^, or ACH/EFT transactions from Checking Accounts,
when all available funds from all specified overdraft sources have
been depleted. Overdrafts that result from using an ATM machine
or a transaction with a Teller will not qualify for Courtesy Overdraft.
The credit union will be clearing checks, debit
card transactions^, and ACH/EFT transactions when there are
no available funds and charging an Overdraft fee. However, the items
will NOT be returned to the original payee. The fee will be charged
for each Courtesy Overdraft transaction*. The Courtesy Overdraft
program will pay items up to a total of $500.00 which includes any
fees assessed. Accounts must be brought to a positive balance within
30 days or the Courtesy Overdraft program will be revoked.
Courtesy Overdraft will be automatically provided
to members who:
- Are 18 years and older; and
- Have an active Star or SilverStar share draft (checking) account
that has been opened at least 90 days (2nd Chance Checking and
Trust Accounts are not eligible); and
- Are in good standing, with no WestStar Credit Union loans past due and have not caused the credit union to incur a loss.
No action is necessary if you wish to participate in the Courtesy
Overdraft program.
^You must complete a separate Debit
Card Overdraft Protection form in order to include Debit Card
Transactions in the Courtesy Overdraft program.
All members who qualify will be automatically enrolled in the
Courtesy Overdraft program. If you do not want to participate,
you may opt out of Courtesy Overdraft by contacting our Member
Service Center or log on to eTeller online banking
